What We Believe

PRAISE CENTER FULL GOSPEL CHURCH DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

We believe that the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God, are the inerrant, infallible Word of God, and the absolute authority both in faith and in conduct.

We believe in one God, eternally existing and manifested in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ – He is God who came in the flesh and therefore is both divine and human. His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood and His bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father where He now makes intercession for His saints.

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and through his fall incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God. All human beings are born with a sinful nature and are therefore lost and in need of a Savior.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe on Him are reconciled to God because of the saving power of the Blood of Jesus and His imputed righteousness.

We believe that all who by faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are born again in spirit, receiving the Holy Spirit and a new nature, and are made a part of the body of Christ. The terms of salvation are repentance from sin toward God, and a personal, heartfelt faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This salvation is entirely by the grace of our Lord and not of works.

We believe in the supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit to believers – empowering, guiding, teaching and bestowing spiritual gifts. The gifts of the Spirit include word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discernment of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, and interpretation of tongues.

We believe that the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a body of believers who have been born again, baptized and who assemble in local fellowships to worship, carry forth the great commission, and minister as the Holy Spirit leads.

We believe that the two ordinances of the Church are Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Water Baptism: The ordinance of water baptism is a direct commandment of the Lord for believers and is symbolic of the Christian’s identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is to be by full immersion in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Lord’s Supper: The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of the death, resurrection and Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that each believer has direct access to the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ. Each person must believe for himself, be baptized for himself, obey for himself, and answer to his Creator for himself.

We believe that divine healing was provided for in the Atonement and may be appropriated by the laying on of hands, by the prayer of an anointed person gifted by the Holy Spirit for healing the sick, or by a direct act of receiving this provision by faith.

We believe in the visible bodily return of Christ Jesus to this earth first to rapture His Church and later to set up his earthly kingdom, reigning with power and glory.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the eternal punishment in Hell for the unbeliever, and everlasting life and blessedness in the presence of God for the believer.
