Rev. Dr. Charles A. Scales Jr.

About Our Bishop

Bishop Charles A. Scales, Jr., D.D. is the founder of Praise Center Full Gospel Church Association which was incorporated on July 8, 1996. God has prospered the growth of Praise Center Full Gospel Church Association to now be comprised of three worship centers, all named Praise Center Full Gospel Church, along with Praise Center School of Ministry.

Along with his collegiate studies at the University of Pittsburgh, Bishop Scales studied under the late Dr. Donald Tunie of Clark Memorial Baptist Church in Homestead, Pennsylvania and the late Rev. Dr.  Jerome Stevenson of Morningstar Baptist Church of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. He was ordained in April 1994 and became Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. During his pastorate at Shiloh, Bishop Scales became a vital force in the Greater Johnstown Community impacting the lives of the members of Shiloh Baptist Church and the community at large. After two years, the Lord led him back to the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area to start a new ministry- Praise Center Full Gospel Church Association.

Along with being known for organizing and playing the piano for several youth choirs throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Area, many people know Bishop Scales as a former student/athlete at Shady Side Academy and the University of Pittsburgh who was drafted by the Kansas City Royals and signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos. But even during those times, the Lord was preparing and molding Bishop Scales for this day and time.

Bishop Scales has proven to be instrumental in helping individuals to maximize their potential physically, academically, and spiritually. Bishop Scales uses his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, his Master of Education in Educational Counseling, and his Doctorate of Divinity in Ministry to minister to the total person and family.

Bishop Scales continuously asks God to speak to him and through him with not only power, truth, and conviction but also with clarity and understanding. Therefore, as we better understand God's word, we better apply it to our lives.

In regards to God's word, Bishop Scales constantly teaches that we must preach it, teach it, implement it, and most of all, LIVE IT!
